Mine was 4th. Reasons according to the jury: 'The marble looks quite dirty from a tabletop distance of 0,80 - 1,00 metres.'

Well, 4th place is not to be sneezed at, even if that's slightly odd criticism (how much information do you get on judging criterion beforehand, out of interest?)

I think the winner is a bit too "busy" for my liking. I like the second place model, mostly because of the white / clear gem which is not something you see done very often and looks really nice.

@Information on judging criterion beforehand: None.

4 of 7 ... is rather disappointing and quite frustrating for me TBH, especially considering the reason given by the jury. The marble is something my fellow painters found particularly well done and interesting about the mini.

I'm loving it, Weib!

Yeah, I think I like the second place one the most as well. I like the base for that one better. It keeps it simple, yet is very much in the vein of Lizardmen.

Game store competitions can be like that. I've found that in local competitions, when I entered a highly-detailed single figure model, I'd lose to the really big models that only had a base coat and a few highlights picked out. It was more the model that attracted them than the paint job. Of course, those events tend to be a popularity competition as well.
